HOW THE HELL DO I FIX THIS I JUST WANNA PLAY THE DAMN GAME. I've tried exiting Steam and restarting, deleting the Steam folder 'appcache', restarting my computer entirely, etc. If I end the task it stops running in the background but otherwise does not fix the issue. In Task Manager it again says that it is running in the background. I tried to launch it from the Origins application and nothing happened, the "play" button just became unclickable. The game is not compatible with Windows 8 as of Patch 2.0, due to switching from SecuROM to Sony Content Protection DRM, which does not work on Windows 8. I went on the Sims website and registered my game and it worked just fine, and it showed up in Origins. If I go into Windows Task Manager it says that the game is running in the background, but there is no way to open it. If I try to launch it again from Steam or the Desktop icon it comes up with an error message saying that the game is already running. but now i upgraded to windows 10 and it stopped working it just runs in the. I just downloaded this from Steam, it installed fine, I go to launch it, and it has the regular 'first time setup' window pop up, but then it closes and nothing happens. Solved: I purchased The Sims Medieval today along with its expansion.
